NBR joins the Energy Research Institute Network (ERIN) as 17th Member

The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) accepted an invitation to join the Energy Research Institute Network (ERIN), an exclusive, collaborative network of leading think tanks and energy institutes in the Asia-Pacific. ERIN comprises one organization from each of the eighteen East Asia Summit (EAS) member nations. Among its chief activities, the network presents a collective report of key findings at an annual meeting of EAS energy ministers.

ERIN was founded in 2014 to provide research support to the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), an international organization established by the EAS. ERIA brings together diverse organizations to bridge existing gaps in research and jointly address regional energy challenges. Until NBR’s induction, ERIN lacked a member institution from the United States. During the EAS Energy Ministers Meeting in Myanmar in September 2016, the members of ERIN moved to add a U.S. institution, and after reviewing the field, they nominated NBR as its seventeenth member.
